Annual Parade of Lights in Lancaster on October 11

Lancaster, NH — The Lancaster Fire Department invites the community to join in celebrating the culmination of Fire Prevention Week with the long-standing tradition of the Annual Parade of Lights. This year’s event, featuring participation from fire departments across the region, will take place on Friday, October 11, at 7:00 p.m., with the parade route running from Bridge Street to Main Street.
Throughout Fire Prevention Week, the fire department visits area schools to engage with students on the importance of fire safety and prevention. The week will conclude with the beloved Parade of Lights, showcasing fire trucks and emergency vehicles flashing lights, honoring the dedication of first responders.
Fire Safety Awareness: Protecting Your Home and Family
As the cooler months approach, fire safety becomes more crucial than ever. The Lancaster Fire Department encourages residents to take simple steps to protect their homes, such as testing smoke alarms monthly, practicing home fire escape plans, and keeping heating equipment well-maintained. "A little preparation can make all the difference in preventing tragedies," said Chief Randy Flynn. "We want everyone to take fire safety seriously—whether it's checking your smoke alarms, keeping flammable items away from heating equipment, or having a dedicated meeting spot."
The Lancaster Fire Department would like to remind attendees to follow all traffic and safety protocols during the event.
