The Lunenburg Annual Maple Festival celebrates an important heritage – an understanding and appreciation for all that goes into the process of “sugaring” and the historical importance of our sugarmakers in the town of Lunenburg Vermont. Join in the 19th year of this celebration - a day immersed in maple! The Lunenburg School, will serve as the hub for the Festival, where visitors will find free and affordable activities for all ages! Sign up for a free door prize, pick up a map and directions to the five local sugarhouses that are open for visitors. “Meet” generations of local sugarmakers through photographic & Interactive displays, antique sugaring equipment, conversations, & demonstrations, which also chronicle the sugaring process. Throughout the day, visitors can vote for the People’s Choice award in the quilt square contest, complete a scavenger hunt and take home maple theme activity pages, enjoy the expressions of maple by the Lunenburg School students, and purchase many things to eat – our affordable popular pancake breakfast and homemade soup luncheon, maple cotton candy, baked goods, slices of pie contest entries, or the whole pie!
